    Hello

I am wondering if I should rid my video ts folder of Nero back up files and only write Vob and IFO files in the folder. Would the back up files cause the burning process to fail ?
As always, your support is welcome and appreciated.

    I too am curious.

If you're having a problem with the burn process failing, post the log so we can see what's going on.

thanks for the replies ... as of yet I haven't redone a burn, within two days for sure, but the files I am referring to say " Back Up File to the IFO " as well as the same for VOB files, which all see to be exact copies in size of the VOB and IFO files. Thers's also a Nero symbol prior to the words. What happens is the data is read and encoded without problem and the report said that the files failed to be written. AS a newbie, I am probably not to clear, so the report will be sent to your kind folk within a few days. Thanks a lot for your responses.

well,I used a reliable Verbatim DVD and the burn was fine. I guess those back up files were not the gremlins, just the cheapo platters I was using.
Thanks MysticE and 7thsinger for your responses to my question.

using better media will remedy many problems! but just to let you know.... your "back up files" of IFOs .... those are .BUP files which is part of the DVD structure! Do not delete them. If you examine a DVD:

this is what makes the DVD navigate and play! Read more about .BUP, .IFO, and .VOB files in the GLOSSARY tab above!
