I have a qosmio FR20 and A Matshita UJ-840S And this error has recently started since i reformatted my laptop. here is the nero log. Perhaps you should look into updating the firmware on the drive. It appears to be out of date. There is also a newer version of Nero 7 if you decide you want to update.
The firmware should be on the laptop's manufacturer's site. They should also have instructions about how to update the software. If you click on Run, it may update the firmware, but I haven't tried. If you don't feel comfortable doing it, don't. But it will probably update the media the drive can recognize.
