    Hello alexrwl,
The first thing i see is you have the buggy version of nero. Lets try to fix that first.
    The stable version is:

    http://httpdl6.us.nero.com/software/nero7/Nero-7.0.1.4b_eng_no_yt.exe

first write your serial number down, then run the clean tool. It says version 6, but it should work for vers 7 also
    http://www.nero.com/nero6/enu/General_CleanTool.html

Ill post this and get back to you. I have 2 other windows open with replies, and its getting confusing. Ill come back when i close the others. I the meantime, you can dl and install the bug free version.

TDK media is not liked by many burners. Try Verbatims or Taiyo Yuden discs found in Sony, Maxell, Fuji if Made in Japan is on spindle.
You have the minimum amount of memory suggested for DVD burning but you will have to manage it. Its getting to where memory could be a problem. Try closing down as many apps as possible and turn off virus scan/spyware stuff. Also dont multi-task when burning.

Your firmware is up to date. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1941

You can safely speed it up to 4x burns on better media.
    it didnt like the media.
