Hi, im having a problem with my nero, or it could be my burner its self im not sure. I am trying to burn a movie (than I own) on to a dvd-r, so I shrinked it and ripped it to my computer. I open nero and add all the files, put in a blank dvd-r and when I click on write it tells me “there is not enough space on this disc” which doesn’t make sense as I have done this before. Its almost reading it as if it’s a cd-r and not a dvd. Also the writing speed it lets me select is only 2.1 or something which is not normal as I always used to write at 8x Any help would be great, thanks
Hi euro2069 Few questions for you to try and sort this out: °Which version of Nero are you using - like 7.0.8.2 or 6.6.0.18 °Which app is Nero are you using - Burning Rom, Express etc °How about the brand of discs you are using? Like Sony +R 8x °Do you have Nero set to DVD-5?
hi, - i am using nero 6 ultra edition - i tried nero express - i use HP dvd+r 8x discs - and im not sure if i have nero set to dvd-5, i dunno how to check? Thanks for the help
For Nero - check your version. Open smart start and look in the bottom right corner for an icon w/ a flame in it. Click that on - your version # will be listed there. If using an earlier version than 6.6.0.18 than update to this one. Here's some links: Package 1 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2 (recode & vision) http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe Now in Express look here to see if set to dvd-5 - look here (pic show dvd9 but this is where you choose the different target sizes) Oncve you add the video_ts folder or files - nothing should so in the red. The HP disc's you are using are made by different manufacturers - some good some not - may be why the burn speed option is only giving you the lower speed. If the firmware on the burner is not update that may help too. Better discs to use would be Verbatim or made in japan only Fuji, Sony or Maxell.
