Hi, this is my first post. I've read a lot of things here that have really helped me out, but now I have a problem of my own, and who else do I turn to but you guys! Okay, here's the setup: I have a movie on my harddrive that was in DivX form. I used DivXToDVD to convert it, and that worked perfectly. I then used This (http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/burn%20with%20nero.pdf) to explain how to use Nero Burning ROM to copy using my DVD Burner (which is Memorex 16X DVD +/- R/RW EXTERNAL Recorder). And that is where my problems started. At various times (I've tried it obviously more than once) it would ERROR. Sometimes at 13%, sometimes at 20%, never more than 30%. I have no idea why, but it ALWAYS errors! I've tried different disks (Sony and Fujifilm) but I still get the error. Please help me. @ReZips - - your firmware is sort of up to date, though hot off the press 1 week ago - version JWS6 of your burner's firmware is here - http://www.memorex.com/downloads/software/JWS6.zip - found the info here - http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=136817 - OMG free up more memory, 512MB is fine for dvd burning but you gotta close a lot of apps down - your hard drive will be 'swapping' and interfering with the burns - eh!, what happened there ? - you need to uninstall InCD - it's Nero's packet writing software and it doesn't play well with Nero Burning Rom. Uninstall Nero, uninstall completely via Nero's Clean Tools - " http://www.nero.com/en/Clean_Tools.html ", then reinstall 6.6.0.15, BUT DO NOT install InCD this time.. hope that helps..
Okay, I updated the firmware and got rid of InCD. I also closed all apps except NBR, and tried again. This time it got to 15%, then error. I was reading some of your other posts creaky and saw that you are also one of the VERY helpfull users, but you say that you also have the disk change error? Does this mean that your burner also does not work, or does this problem happen like rarely and you've seen it before? This seems to be the big problem I am having seeing as all the little things seem to be in order (I think).

Okay, I see what you mean. If this helps, the movie I have is split into two "disks" on the harddrive, and I put both files into Shrink. The thing is, though, many people put more than one file into Shrink and it works, so I dunno what it is. Another thing that may help: I burned a smaller file a little while ago using NBR and it worked, yet I tried this file again and it failed. It could be the size of this file, or it could be corrupt (is that even possible with DivX files?) Another odd thing is that this file plays on my computer fine, and when I take it out of the burner after it fails and put it into my DVD player, it plays up to the point it stopped burning. Is that supposed to happen? Thank you so much for your help.
