I was at Nero's web site looking at all the products and I started to read all that came with Nero 7. I dont want all of that stuff... all i want is the burning rom is there any way to get around it or do you have to purchase the whole thing to get the burning software? Thanks

    Hi sethkirk
Nope you have to purchase the whole thing. You can always do a custom install and just install what you want.

Nah not that bad any more. Go with the latest 7.5.9.0a.

Does have some other apps you might want to use - like Showtime, Vision, Recode, Express, Tool Kit.

Technically, NO....you can ask this question in your previous thread...the version of Nero 6 that was recommended is the BEST of Nero 6 whereas the later versions of Nero 7 are becoming more "stable" with each new release...there are some that I wouldnt allow near my comp though.

No sethkirk you did nothing wrong as Gwen said.

I don't think your problem (from Gwen's link) is due to what version of Nero you are using. You can give 7 a go but I don't think it will help with your burn failures.
Looking like more of a drive/media problem.

There are free burning programs you can try also like ImgBurn if your just interested in the burning piece.

Looks like this oem disc doesn't have Burning Rom only Express.

You can pretty much do some of the same things w/ Express as you can Burning Rom just some of the settings/options may not be in Express.
    But I think most are.
One thing Express doesn't do is burn to multiple burners at once - need Burning Rom for that. Only thing I can think of right now.

Well I guess im just going to go ahead and buy Nero 7. If I dont like this version is it possible to download a different version such as 6.6 using the same product code?

Why not just try the trial of 7 1st? No cost at least. Good for 30 days I think.

Write down your current serial # for 6. Uninstall, run the clean tool and download the latest Nero 7 - (7.5.0.9a).

    Nice b-day gift :)

Maybe the burner and/or the media. If the drive would ever receive any firmware support it would probably solve that - but don't hold your breathe on that :)
For -R's on this drive look for 8x made in Japan Sony or Fuji - they're usually made by Taiyo Yuden and so far they still burn in mine (same one as yours)

    Oh and Happy B-Day!
