Hello, i have looked for a solution to this problem on the internet but cannot find a similar case anywhere. When i use nero (i have tried 6,7,8) the tray will open and shut 3 or 4 times by itself. This is a real pain as when i try to burn something the tray will open just before causing the burn to fail. Any help would be really appreciated thanks, Arron
When the tray opens,does any of the burn take place and do you get an error message? Post your last nero burn log: C:/Program files/Ahead/Nero/Nero History: Copy the top log and paste into next post. Leave out the serial # at the top of the log-example: 1A20-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx. Sometimes drives will spit out a blank disc-just before the burn. Usually it's a firmware issue-and no actual burn has taken place.A simple firmware update may fix it.They do not know how burn that specific media you are using. Look for the latest firmware update for your dvd-rw drive. If it fails during the burn-disc has partially been burned,then can be several different things. A burn log would help. Since you had 3 different versions of nero loaded on you pc,remove all of them. Download and run the following tools of Nero 6, Nero 7,and Nero 8: http://www.nero.com/enu/downloads-cleantools.html Even though you may have safely removed the previous versions of nero,there may be remnants left on your pc. Running the cleantools,should remove all remnants of nero. Then download nero again and leave out the INCD packet. INCD can screw you up.
i get the same problem with my wifes mouth tray, it opens and closes many times a aday... i use ear defenders... ---------- ok, is your drive behind a fashia plate
