I just want to know what PI Errors, PI Faiures, Jitters, Meaning of Graph (a), etc.

I've posted a sample for some purpose...

Any help appreciated. If this is also in the wrong area, moderators please feel free to move it in the correct thread.

    Hi there,

I can't find a good site that really explains what a PiPo Scan is.

But let me try to show you what I know about the graph.

    1) I have a NEC-3550a drive, and the Author of CDSpeed mentioned not to read at MAX speed, I should read at 4x (5x in my case)

    2) The Graph on top, if I recall should never be above 400

    3) The graph on the bottom, should never be above 8 or 10

As you can see, your media is 0% quality.

Those Ritek should not be burned more than 2x or 4x MAX.

What a PiPo Scan like this, I would expect issues on playback.
    Skipping, Freezing etc...

Now all I know about the graph is this.

The above graph shows you errors.
You are aloud a certain amount of errors before it's serious.

After a certain amount errors in a row, it will generate an error on the bottom graph.

This is why it's normal to have a few errors on the top graph but not too many on the bottom.

I know this helped, at least a little.

If I ever get a good document on how to read a PiPo Scan and a good explaination, I will post here !
