Nero codec problem!!

    I installed nero 7 but i had problems with windows media player freezing when trying to play a video. I noticed under properties that it was unsing "nero digital audio codec". So i removed it and WMP worked fine. But now nero cant convert mp3's. I know this is because i removed the codec. Can anyone tell me how i can keep the codec but not allow WMP to use it?
