hi just wondering if anyone can tell me whats going on with my nero vision express2 it used to transcode full movies (around 2 hrs long) in about 2 hours but for some random reason it is now taking forever, i have been trying to burn some tv shows converting them from avi's to dvd and they have been taking up to 9hrs to convert (3 hours worth of shows).

did i break it or does this just happen with some files.

oh and i'm running a 3.0ghz processor with 512mb ram if that helps.

    thanks.

oh and plus if it makes any difference i have been putting a video clip as the background of the menu which i have never done before, any chance that could be the cause.

a couple things that might help

    1. Try cleaning your system , Clear History,Delete Files ,Delete cookies ,then do a disc cleanup and DEFGRAG your system.and see if that helps

2.Try uninstalling and reinstalling the nero program.

    hope this helps

Are you running any programs in the background?
I have used this program for some time now but i have never had a slow time like that.
Having a video in the menu shouldn't make a significant difference.

You could put the .avi files into VSO DivxToDvd which takes about an hour for an average movie then use Nero Vision Express to create a menu then you can burn it.

Check for viruses,worms....etc they might be slowing your comp down

If you have no luck uninstall and reinstall the nero suite

    Hope this helped

i cleaned up the computer a little bit as for the defragging it needs it but its looked worse, i dont have any programmes running in the background, checked for spyware but not run a virus scan yet.

at the time of writing this i have now been transcoding 3, 1 hr long shows for 14 hours and i still have another 2 hours to go.

ill give the uninstalling nero and reinstalling it a try if this dvd ever gets burned

thanks for the tips guys i hope i get it sorted cos i cant live with 15 hrs per movie. dont really like using the other programmes such as divxtodvd as the quality is no where near as good
