For a couple of years I have used Nero 6 without any problems. Lately I installed Nero 8 and that worked fine. But i thought Nero 6 was better so I uninstalled Nero 8 and installed Nero 6. Then when I wanted to burn a regular DVD DATA disk i get this error message " This application has detected that your drive is not in DMA (direct memory access) mode......" It says that I can reboot and the problem will get fixed. I did reboot and it was the same. So I burned a disc just to see WTF was going on and the disc looked like some1 had a good scratch on it. I formated my comp and Nero 6 was ok..... then suddenly the same notification came up. How can I fix this problem? Thank You!
Nero did not ruin your drive! LOL that's funny..... but there is a reason why your drive went out of DMA mode: http://winhlp.com/node/10 and here is how to fix it: http://my.afterdawn.com/alkohol/blog_entry.cfm/231/dmaissues follow this guide and you'll have success in getting your burner back to DMA.
