Hello, I am using Nero 7 Premium. I converted a few DVDs (main title only) to MPEG-4 Nero Digital files and burnt them to CDs (Memorex). The CDs play well in the computer, but are not recognized by TV DVD players which are Nero Digital certified (I tried the CDs in the DVD player Grundig GDP 3550 which, according to the Nero web site, is Nero Digital certified). I think I don't have a general problem with Nero, as DVDs, VCDs and SVCDs prepared with it play well in my TV DVD player. Could you please help? Thank you.
It looks like a media issue. The problem is Memorex and or CMC MAG media that you're using. Secondly, your dvd player has to be MPEG4 certified (or AVI, DivX certified) to play certain CD-Rs. Remember not all dvd players can play CD-R, MPEG4, AVI, DivX, XviD, etc.
Hello Alkohol Thank you for your help. I tried a TDK CD, this time the disk plays well in the Grundig GDP 3550 TV DVD player, which is certified for MPEG4 and Nero Digital. To be honest, I realized the player works well with the Memorex CD/MPEG4/nero too. The reason why I said it didn't work with this disk was that the salesman in the shop had put the disk in the player and waited just a few seconds. Since the disk did not start immediately, he concluded that the player could not read the disk. For some reasons Nero digital files need more time (10-20 sec) to start playing, at least in this DVD player. The last thing that I wanted to mention is that the quality of a DVD movie converted to a 692MB, MPEG4 Nero digital file is impressive. At least on a normal (non HD) TV, it is very hard to distinguish the original DVD file (4.3 GB) from its MPEG4 version (692MB). Thanks again. Bye!
