Nero disc not writable error with every disc I try

    I have Nero 6 ultra edition with nero start smart. I also have Alcohol 120, dvd shrink, dvd decryptor, and any dvd installed on my machine in case there is an incompatability that I don't know of. My problem is that when I try to burn a dvd with nero start smart I get the error : Disc is not writable. Then I use the disc with another program and it works fine. I am using Maxell DVD+R. Can anyone help me?
