I'm taking my laptop Fujitsu Amilo A1630 back to seller, its been under a year and it has had way too many problems (mainly overheating related, fourth motherboard running so far). Should have known, powerful machine with bargain price and year quarantee, there must be a catch, and on this one - its crap. The quarantree period ends on next monday, and I'm backing up my files - expect it doesnt let me to! Same fresh Maxell dvds it accepted earlier are now somehow bad. I updated Nero, checked that DMA's are working but that's all I know to do. Hi, i know this thread is a few months old, just stumbled on this thread while looking for info on someone else's thread with same drive/problem. - your firmware is out of date, 1.03 is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1815 - you need to free up more memory/close down more programs priory to any burning - your burner's not recognising your discs correctly. The media must be newer than your burner's firmware knows what to do with. - as i say, the burner isn't equipped (in it's firmware) to know what to do with the discs correctly
And for the overheating. Use the vacuum cleaner to clean the laptop. Just put it where the air goes in and out. The fan collects allot of dust so this might help.
