I dont have a problem with other movie files, I am burning on Nero DVD vision so that it creates a DVD.......
The dvd project was burned twice, on two seperate DVDs, the video stops every minute or two.
The files play fine on VLC my computer, never stops, Any suggestions ? Thanks Daryl

The burned DVD stops every couple of seconds on both copies you made?
On your standalone player or PC or both?
What brand discs are you using?

Not being rude, the make of the dvds, isnt the issue, I have no problems with other dvds, I think has to do with the bit rate ? or something? The video just gets stuck within every few minutes on the DVD player, the file works fine on the PC Thanks D

So try with another program such as DVD Flick to see if you get the same results.

Not being rude... heard that one before from people using fakes and cmc disks burned at 16x on a clapped out old nec 1300 :)

Try first burning at a slower speed.. or faster.. check for buffer underruns and things which may be interrupting the burning process. Ears are good tools to use when burning.. if the drive seems to be "hunting" or changing speed a lot during the burn then often the resulting disks are junk. Chack what else is going on in the background.. you would be surprised how many antivirus programs will decide to update half way through doing something... throwing all kinds of interrupt flags down the busses.

I was going to wait to see another program fail before I "wrongly" accused the discs. "it's not the discs" is usually the nail in the coffin.

"the make of the dvds, isnt the issue,..."

This tells me right off the bat that the person might be ashamed to admit what brand disc they are using. Secondly, why bother asking for advice when you put the clamps on the advisors before they even get rolling?

No offense intended and I may be whipping a dead horse, however, the DVD media [in my experience] has accounted for almost every failed burn. I've tried most major brands of DVD's discs and burnt dozens upon dozens of coasters for years until I found Taiyo Yuden.

Another factor is the difference between various DVD players and their ability handle 'read error'. I have two PC DVD players and three Home Theater DVD players. My high end SACD/DVD Audio DVD player is by far the most sensitive and it fails to read most often. I test all my video burns on that player - if it plays the disc, then the disc will likely play fine on all DVD players. The other cheaper players can play almost anything. I once sent out several dozen DVD slideshows that played fine in my cheap DVD player, but everyone complained their copy didn't work. Sure enough I tried it in my high end player and it failed. I burnt the same project on Taiyo Yuden's and never heard a complaint from anyone.

Bottom line: If your DVD media is not of high quality and your DVD player is high end, or, 'sensitive', you will experience problems, regardless of software.

One simple test is to try burning the same project on a Taiyo Yuden disc and see if the results are the same.

Note: Burning Data DVD's is quite different than Video DVD's. Burning Video DVD's requires a much higher quality disc.

    Hope that helps.

    ***EDIT***
All burns were done over the years with various versions of Nero and the discs always ended up as the problem. I've burned well over 200 Video discs on Taiyo Yuden and I can remember only one coaster - not bad!!!

Yeah, you must have over looked my DVD Flick suggestion. Your discs are shiite, but I won't tell you to change them as you seem happy with them.
