I have been using Nero for a long time to back up copies of my DVD. Just recently I have been running into this problem. When I enter my DVD it analyses it just fine. I then push next going to the page let ask me what speed- and the quality I want- one pass- two pass. Then it starts burning (Note: all those steps worked just fine before)

    BUT NOW:

When it starts burning it starts with the volume and then after that it says done and completed without actually burning anything.

Does anyone know why it has started to do this?

Some versions of Nero6 and Nero7 have a few bugs, which version are you using (example 6.6.1.4 or 7.0.1.4), please dont just say Premium.

I am at work and I will go home and check. It is very strange because it worked 3 days ago burning over 100 movies or so. I unplugged my computer for 2 days because I was moving and now it will not burn to the disk it just runs and says its burning volume but no burning is happening.

OK when you have that info please post it, also you may like to post your last Nero log file, found here

Nero 6 history log location: Program Files>Ahead>Nero>NeroHistory.txt

Nero 7 history log location: Program Files>Nero>Nero 7>Core>NeroHistory.txt

If your computer is older and you unplugged it, maybe it lost the Bios setup information. You might check to make sure it is still intact the next time you boot. The date it shows is usually the first hint.

Also, perhaps the laser went out in your burner. How long between the start and end of the burning process?

Did you move the computer while it was unplugged--any chance of dislodging a connection?

Can anything else burn using the drive?
