Can anyone help?? When i want to put movies i have on my pc onto disc i use nero 6. When i first started doing this the whole process of enconding and burning would take roughly 1hr 20mins. Now when i try to do it its taking more than treble than that time. I have not changed the routine i was using but for some reason it is just really really slow. Hope someone can help me any advice would be appreciated.
Hi dottylfc Here's some suggestions: °Check and make sure all drives are in DMA mode and not PIO mode. Here's a guide °run a registry cleaner. Here's a good free one ccleaner. Use the issues and cleaner options. °If you haven't very recently do a virus and spyware scan. °Do a disc defrag When encoding close any unneeded programs. Give those a go and let us know.
Thanks for the quick reply. I have just that my drives are in DMA mode and came across two primary and two secondry drives..I dont know whether this has anything to do with the problem but all are in DMA mode. I only yesterday done a virus and spyware check and both results were fine. I have also done a disc defrag too..I downnloaded ccleaner yesterday but am a little afraid to use it as i have been told not to mess sround with my registry by a few people..any help about that would be appreciated
Yes if you're not carefully messing w/ the registry can really screw things up. CCleaner is a good program - I've used it on quite a few pc's. Does that mean it's 100% on all setup's - no but none are. If you have one that you used before and feel more comfortable w/ it than use that one. When a registry gets clogged up w/ useless and invalid entries it can slow the pc down. CCleaner does give you an option it save a backup of the registry before it runs. The choice is yours - I like the cleaner option in it much better than windows disc cleanup. So at least run one of those to clean up temp files.
