shut down all your virtual drives...... Nero sometimes does not like virtual drives as you're trying to burn a disk. shut down all un needed programs running in the back ground! your version of Nero 6 is not the stablest version.... 6.6.0.18 is the most stablest version of Nero 6 and I would update it to that version. Here's how: Before udating to 6.6.0.18 I would save the serial #, uninstall Nero, then use the cleaning tools : http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/eng/Clean_Tools.html then do a registry clean up(free registry cleaner, CClean: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloadpage.aspx?1) and defrag...... then reboot! install package one: http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_burning_rom/?539 then install package two: http://www.nero.com/nero6/eng/Patch_for_NVE3.html reboot and you're good to go! also I would use better media. Stick with the MIJ rule (Made In Japan). Look for the MIJ on the label of the box of spindle (Taiyo Yuden, Sony, Maxell, and some Fuji)... the only exception to this rule is Verbatim, which is top notch media but made in Taiwan/Singapore and the only non MIJs I will use. Packet writing utilities such as "InCD" are notorious for interfering with burn processes, as the way it works is to continually poll the burner to check for new media. This prevents the burn application gaining exclusive access to the burner, and sense code errors will happen - every time. Get rid of all packet writing utilities. They are more trouble than they are worth.
thanks for your help ill try out all you suggested. The media i am using is cheap but i have used the same product for about 4 years and have never ahd a problem with them. Anyway i hope it will work now after this. and again, thanks a bunch.

As stated in the first response...you are using poor quality discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in Japan) Slow your burn to 4X if you continue to use prodiscs. Also edit out your serial number from the log, before someone pirates it.

hmmm, ive tried burning loads of times now and have used up about 20 dvd's, tried burning on a philips x4 dvd-rw and still the exact same thing.
you seem to be burning with inferior media! here is a media guide for you: http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm it's not without error but it's a good indication of what's good and what's not so good. Don't agree with it's standings on TDK! but a good rule of thumb here is to get media that is MIJ (Made In Japan). Check the label on the box or spindle for MIJ. I only use Taiyo Yuden disks. Verbatim is top notch and NOT MIJ and the only other disk that I let near my burners.

@blueseal........ what are you getting out of this? You ran DVD Identifier and found out what? you have Prodis.... and inferior made media! now go out and get yourself better media! Preferably Made in Japan media. You can go online and buy Taiyo Yuden.... found @ supermediastore.com, meritline.com, rima.com, newegg.com and other reputible online stores or go out and get Verbatim in the stores. Stick with the 8x Verbatim. You'll find you have better success rates with the good media!
well i think i found that, the discs are made by prodisc. "ProdiscF01" and from what i read "The Fuji discs I have seen lately (Taiwan) were made by Prodisc (ProdiscFO1) the "F" in the MID media ID code stands for Fuji. Not long ago at Best Buy and others, media sleuths knew Fuji and Sony discs with made in Japan were the sought after Taiyo Yuden. Another clue is that with Taiyo Yuden made media, the cakebox bubbles out and is wider at the bottom of the spindle." dunno if that means anything, but i will sure go out and buy some MIJ to see if i get some better success, because unless i do have a bad batch of media this time then i could only really expect to have the burn process failed message once again, because i have nerver had a burn error with these discs before. Out of 100+ burns. i have a few other spindles here somewhere ill try another disk to see. thanks for your help anyway IHoe, and im sorry that i frustrate you. thanks
I don't mean to come off that badly to you! Sometimes I come out too strongly.... bad habbit of mine. I'm sorry. But yeah, you should do better with MIJs or Verbatim. Try it.... you'll see. I also had to be tought that starting with good media can mean a successful burn or a coaster! And surprisingly thousands of burns later I haven't changed my disk at all! Taiyo Yuden disks are the best! Thousands of burns and only one or two faulty disks. Can't beat that!
Just one more thing blueseal, you can have a stack of 100 blank dvd's and use 25 of them and then run into 5 bad ones and then the other 70 will be ok, I've had stacks of dvd's( i always give them a quick look before I put them in the burner) and find marks or sometimes the color seems off on the blank dvd. Guess what I'm saying is just because the first bunch worked dosen't mean that they are all good from the same stack. Good luck Peace all
