Hello everyone, I have a recent notebook under Windows XP SP2 with an internal NEC ND6500A DVD writer. For a few days, Nero 7.0.1.4.b has been displaying the error message "could not perform disc-at-once" at the beginning of each attempted write, this with various media types of different qualities, including those this writer has previously written without difficulty. Nero now acts as if it could not handle DVD-R and DVD+R, and so do other burning software on the PC, including Alcohol and Clone DVD 2. I thought it might be a hardware problem with the writer, so I bought a brand new external Samsung USB2 writer : same message error. I even tried to reload an old Ghost image of my C: drive which did not raise this issue, same message error. However, yesterday, it burnt a DVD-RW normally. I tried usual things, BIOS, software and firmware updates, virus and registry errors scans, cleaning and defragmenting, etc ... I know I already encountered this issue a few years ago, but can not remember what the solution was. Apparently, many persons in forums encounter it. Is there a known cause or solution ? thanks in advance.
