When I try to write a data CD, I get the "Could not perform EndTrack" error message and this happens a lot! almost every once in a while I AM ABLE to write a CD correctly (sometimes the same CD which had problem previously!). I unistalled the older version and installed the 6.6.0.13 version. I have the windows xp pro and also I have the service pack 2 installed, I don't know if this is something related to O/S or not? I'd appreciate it anybody knows what's going on? Thank you.....

Try putting less on the cd, as sometimes you cut it too close when burning and it cannot complete the end track (lead out).

Thanks for replying. But I still get the same error when I try to write the files as small as 200MB or something....

post LAST section of your Nero log, which is in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log, but DO NOT post your serial number which usually begins with '1A21' or similar..

    @betoche -

    - the firmware your burner needs depends on which PC/drive you have -

version 1.08 - this is for HP machines - http://h18007.www1.hp.com/support/files/hpcpqnk/us/download/22745.html

or look down the page for your drive here - http://tdb.rpc1.org/ -

    Support for multiple OEM derivatives (A103 (DELL), 1.00, 1.01 (Toshiba), 1.02 (Acer) and 1.07 (HP/Compaq)) -

Snippet from the readme file from the 2nd option -
    http://tdb.rpc1.org/

    - 256MB is barely sufficiengt for Windows XP, never mind DVD work on top. you'll have to free up lots more memory, especially as you only have 256MB

    - did you mean to d a multisession disc ?

    - if sorting out the firmware doesn't work, try better media

    - see previous comment

That same error comes to me also. First i got "Could not perform end of Disc-at-once" problem but after I updated nero, firmware and aspi, it started to work couple of times. But now i got all the time "Could not perform EndTrack" error. It comes whatever I burn or how much, i don't even run any other programs during the burning. Would be great if someone could help me. @Stiiv -

    - firmware is 2 versions behind, A105 is here - http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?category=4&manufactor=16

    - if firmware and lowering speed doesn't help, try different media

    - see previous comment

    - try 24x, maybe 16x

Need to do few things. First, you need to stop using cheap CD or change your CD. Secondly, use this expensive tool called "blow air using your mouth" on your Writer lens and your back to writing CDs!
    Note Before:
You have to make sure that your system's drivers have all been updated as well.

Thanks Matexusa. Boy do I feel embarrassed. I've been haveing this error for a while and spent the last three days with Windows help and Nero and what not which led me here.
I blew on the lense like Mate said and I am back to burning.
Again, Thanks for bringing me back to the basics.

that's good for the moment, but it's a short-term fix. keep the other recommendations in mind for when you have more problems.
