I keep getting this error when I burn more than one file on my system using Nero. I've tried burning at slower speeds, using different media. My DMA is on. For some reason, I can a single file of any size, but as soon as I try burning more than one file, I get this error. Here is a paste of the log. namnuts Update your burner's firmware to version 1.39, you can get the update here, just click on the 1.39 choice. http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=2140 [bold]Media type: DVD+R Disc Manufacturer ID: RITEK, Media Type ID: R03, Product revision number: 2[/bold] These disks (RITEK) are trash, dump them and use SONY DVD+Rs instead (good quality stuff from japan). [bold]Physical memory : 503MB (515432kB) Free physical memory: 100MB (102588kB) Memory in use : 80 % [/bold] You've got enough physical memory, but 80% of it is in use, try not multitasking while burning and shut down any unnecessary application as well to free up resources. All else looks ok.
@johnl123, Thats an interesting statement about the Ritek, I always thought they were quality discs. As they say, Live and Learn, Cheers.
Actually gwen, you're correct: [bold]RITEKGO5..GO4..R03..D01..GREAT..media[/bold] He's using the R03, which are considered good media. that's what happens when you're in a hurry, thanks for the correction (I did know this).
The only thing that worries me about upgrading the firmware is that this burner is part of a duplication machine from Addonics (www.addonics.com). Will trying to upgrade the firmware on this drive possibly damage the standalone duplication feature?
