They are on sale at Office Max 100 for $24 if you are in the states. Although, X8 speed discs would be preferable, as your burner is a bit old and might not have support for X16 discs even with the new firmware..
DId you get new discs? If it works with the X16 that you have now, it should probably work with the X16 Vebatims too. The OfficeMax deal is a good deal.
