    DMA should be on.
It looks like it's off on the hard drive and the burner.
    - here's a link.

You might want to try 'Verbatim' brand instead of CMC disks.

This is probably related to the CMC disks.

Note, that you have an old version of Nero - there is an updated version that you can install (after recording your serial numbers and using the Nero Clean tool).

Thanks for the reply, I did as instructed and turned the DMA's back on to no avail, I then changed disc's used Nero cleantool and downloaded the updated version, but whilst installing it the serial code from the old Nero wont work, I cut and paste it but the install button stays greyed out, now I'm in real trouble?

I don't think there ever was an official 6.0.0.0 release.

Well, the laptop is Alienware and it came with a lot of stuff installed but in the box was a folder containing disks and as far as I remember it contained Windows and Nero etc but the laptop is about 3 years old now and I moved house a year ago and now I cant find the essentials, but what I don't understand is why it wont take the serial key I pulled from version 6 before I uninstalled it? Its all there, I haven't left any digits out...........bugger.
