Make sure you are using the most current firmware version for your drive, which is availble here: http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1754 NOTE: make sure you select the correct OEM vesion before applying firmware. This is over two years old as well.
how do i select the correct OEM version? and how do i know which is teh most current firware version for my drive? sorry but im rather naive in this area.
If your drive is in a medion you choose 1.20, if it is a true Pioneer the newest is 1.22 Take all discs out of the drive and read the readme.txt for intructions...followed to a tee. A word of warning, a bad flash can fry a drive but it isn't a difficult task.
ok i went to the page, downloaded the 1.22 version. i got to install it and get the message 'available target is not found'
I've not flashed a Pioneer before.... This is from the readme.txt from here: http://pioneerdvd.rpc1.org/#PIONEER_DCR I've highlighted the pertinent information in red and italicized below, you might want to try this version instead. EDIT: Understand that a firmware update may or may not help with your problem...so after all this hard work you may still need another drive or a different solution to the problem. I/O errors indicate that there is a problem getting the data to or from the drive, which firmware may remedy, but this isn't a fool proof fix. There may be other factors that are prohibiting a successful burn.
went to the site, downloaded the file 'Pioneer DVR-107 v1.21 RPC-1 + 12xRip + nx4all'. extracted the files (R7100007.121 and R7100101.121). it then tells me to extract the files in the directory where the extracted patched firmwares are, but what are the patched firwares?
