hi i have a problem with nero 7 premium when run it it says

the nero executable file was modified! maybe your pc is infected by a computer virus!
we would recomened to use the latest anti virus soft ware to check your pc.
if no virses are found, do a full uninstiall of nero and reinstall from original nero cd

uninstalled and re installed nero but it works just for a little while and then it says the same error "the nero executable file was modified!..."

i have seen some threads on this subjects here it says to disable virus checker but how can i disable virus checker in nero 7 i go to options but there is no disable virus scanner or chacker or anything pls help

really need to burn some staff

It is interesting that this message commonly occurs when one is using a "crack" of the program and tries to update.....don't know if this is the case, but....

this is not a cracked version of nero it's a legal serial and i know people that have a cracked version of nero and they never had this problem so it is not related to being legal or not it's a spyware or something any idea if somebody could help thanks

there is a very easy way of geeting around that error...

    1) start nero smart start..
    2) since i want to burn an image..scrool onto the Copy and Backup icon..
    3) click Burn image to disc icon..
    4) press cancel when the select a file thing comes up..
    5) now you should be at the nero express screen
    6) click the nero button on the bottom..
    7) happy burning

you can do this with anything..not just to burn an image..(ex. copy CD,DVD...

I encountered the same problem with Nero 7, and I found a workaround too, but first let me explain exactly what happened. I may be an atypical user, but I generally log on to XP as a user with limited rights, and use my administrator account only when needed. So I normally write my CDs as limited user. But yesterday ùmy backup software (Acronis Trueimage) arrived. I made a disk image with it first (on my secondary HDD) using the recovery CD, before booting Windows and logging in as administrator to install TrueImage itself. But first I wanted to burn the backup disk image to a CD using Nero 7. My first encounter with the 'executable modified' message. The previous night burning a CD with Nero was the last thing I did, with the 'shutdown when finished' option! So I intalled TrueImage, restored the Nero and Ahead files from my fresh disk image to a different location, did a binary compare, and found that no Nero executable was modified. And yes, starting Nero with my limited user account did work fine. So this is a bogus message, and a workaround had to be found. But first I tried Nero Express, as administrator. Nero Express could load Nero Burning ROM without the 'executable modified' message, and afterwards loading Nero Burning ROM directly gave no problems anymore either. So try that, and send a message to Ahead they need to fire there quality manager, for this problem is around since Nero 5 and isn't even mentioned on their support site.
