Hi, I have been getting errors burning DVD’s for a long time now. I've made my way through various different brands and qualities of media. I've had cheap unbranded ones that resulted in almost all coasters and middle end ones like Fuji that burned about 75% of the time. I finally got sick of the errors and decided to splurge and get some Verbatim's because I hadn't heard anything bad about them and they are usually heralded for their amazing low coaster ratio. Well, I get the discs the other day and start using them and so far out of 7 burned 2 coasters already. It's a little alarming. I've tried searching but I don't think I'll be able to solve the problem myself as I don't know much about the hardware. If someone could take a look at this logfile and let me know if it really is just the discs or not I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance.
[14:43:23] NeroVision CdRomPeripheral : TSSTcorp CD/DVDW TS-H552B atapi Port 3 ID 0 DMA: Off DMA needs to on DMA guide here - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038 peace
Nero API version: 7.2.0.3 and 7.2.0.3b These latest versions of Nero are full of bugs, I recommend you uninstall, run this clean tool http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html and then install 7.0.8.2 a more stable version from here http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845 Also burning too fast, slow to 4X
^^^^ I tried downloading that NERO 7.0.8.2 Demo you posted but when I try and install it, it asks for a serial number. There's already one in the box but it keeps saying that it is incorrect. How can I get around this?
^^Check your serial number using reg edit. Enter that one. Thanks for the replies so far. I lowered the write speed and put dma on. No coasters so far!
