nero express ?

    can i burn a dvd-r to dvdrom or must i use a dvd+r disc in nero express.tia col...

    Hey cryoung
    Nope need a +R to booktype to dvd-rom. -R can't be booktyped.

    If your drive supports booktyping you can set Nero to 'automatic' - Nero will then automatically booktype to DVD-Rom when a +R disc is used.

    binkie7 thank's for your reply.why i asked re dvd-r and dvd+r is i copied a dvd with nero express it was a dvd-r and in nero options i changed from automatic to dvdrom and it played in my standalone dvd player when before i was getting disc error and it wouldn't play..col

    Hmmm sounds more like the option or file you burned w/ Nero Express though -R's do have higher compatibility w/ players then +R (not booktyped to dvd-rom)

    binkie7 i dont think i explained what i meant properly.i will try again,my standalone dvd player nec. nvd-23 would not play burnt cd's
    i was using dvd-r cd's burnt. but they would not play on my player. but played on my daughters player so what i did was i used the same burnt dvd which is a dvd-r i then copied
    it with nero express and then burnt it with the options set to dvdrom
    and that disc copied to dvdrom plays in my player.so i cant work that out..........col.

    Yeah never can I cause -R doesn't have a field that can be written in the DVD like +R does that can be set to read as a DVD-Rom.

    binkie7 answer to your ?no. i had the dvd already burnt it is a dvd-r dvd,it would not play in my player kept getting disc error.so i got the same disk the dvd-r and copied it with nero exprees and when it was copied i burnt it with nero express using another dvd-r disk with options set at dvdrom,it burnt ok and it played in my player .i will see if i can screen shot..col...
