any idea what's up with this? a song that's 3:23 shows up in Express at 6:46. I usually like to go into properties and trim off any long intros or outro fades, but it's damn near impossible. Even though the oscilloscope image stops at about the right place:

...if I play the song (in Properties) from about where it ends (visually), it keeps on playing (in the screen print you may be able to see that it's playing long after the wave ends)

could that really have an effect? as you can see, I have quite a bit open, which often raises eyebrows. iTunes, specifically, is open because that's where I play around with the order of songs before burning a disc. [off-topic, but I swear I used to be able to play an entire multi-song set somehow in Nero, but I can't for the life of me recall how/where. Now all I seem to be able to figure out is to click PLAY and launch the mini-player, or play from Properties, either of which plays only one song at a time].

I'll try the editing again with iTunes closed.

update: that made no difference. also, it happens on some tracks, but not others. and, if I add the track again, it still shows up measuring 6:46, even though it's 3:23 or so (half....maybe that's a clue?)

    currupt mp3 me thinks...

or they just left record on too long and the end has got to long

given that the mp3 plays fine in iTunes and WinAmp, both of which show its length at 3:23, as does the file properties, wouldn't that seem to indicate that the issue is with Nero, not my file? If record had been "left on too long", I'd have all players playing a bunch of silence, no?
