hi did you rip the encryption out first? install an ASPI layer !!! also enable DMA! CdRomPeripheral : LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW-1633S atapi Port 4 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : LITE-ON CD-ROM LTN-489S atapi Port 4 ID 1 DMA: Off DiskPeripheral : WDC WD1600BB-22GUA0 atapi Port 5 ID 0 DMA: On
Hi OK I'm pretty sure the file is encrypted. This used to work fine until I had to buy new DVD-R's. I did everything you suggested except for the ASPI layer because I'm sure how to do that, and I still get the same error.
I believe you don't have the latest version from Nero Recode 2, plus you're Nero is too old. Try to update to the latest of Nero 6 (6.6.0.18 - arguably one of Nero's best version). See picture below, I have Nero 7 Premium with Nero Recode 2 version 2.2.7.6 -- Nero 6.6.0.18 (the latest from Nero 6 Ultra) should be very close to what I have. Your firmware is old, it needs to update to the most current, the new firmware is BSOY, go here http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1934 This is a little too close to the edge, try to customize to 4360MB or at least 4400MB at the max. With only 56MB left, you're in a super tough situation here. I usually recommend people to have at least 512MB or more if possible. Your best bet is to upgrade/add another 512MB to boost up your CPU system when Nero Recode is progressing. Try to "disable/shutdown" any unnecessary programs in prior to perform your project. Try to free/release more memory by going to "ctrl+alt+del" and "end process" on any of your unuse applications/programs, or START, RUN and type msconfig, STARTUP and diable any unnecessary programs at startup. Something is not right here, it should have at least 4365MB or 4400MB or something similar. I'm not dissin' Ritek, I know Ritek is good, but lately I've seen tons of failed burned using Ritek media. Perhaps, you might to try YUDEN, Verbatim "advanced azo/datalife plus" or Maxell (mij - by Hitachi), these are top notch media. Again, it looks like a media issue here. Either your burner can not detect the media, or it doesn't like it. Try other high quality media as mentioned above.
When I try to instal the new Firmware BSOY I get an error message that says... "No Match Drive Detected! This utility is only for LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW - 1633S drive. Detected drives: 4-0-0-0 E:LITE-ON DVDRW SOHW - 1633S BGS4 4-0-1-0 F:LITE-ON CD-ROM LTN-489S 8GS4" What does this mean?
@cotonswab - i've come a cropper with lite-on's finnicky firmware recently (on 2 lite-on drives). this is a fairly common problem and the only way i could get the firmware updated was to hook uo the drives to a.n.other pc and update the firmware and reinstall drives on original pc. a pain in the bum that had me ditch the lite-on's
Do you know of any other way because I don't have access to another pc. Even if I did I have no idea how to move the drive to another computer.
hi if useing winXP try loading.booting in safe mode then try to install firmwares, could also be looking at the wrong drive? is the drive set as master? if it is try taking the other drive off the cable while updating firmware! so it only can see 1 drive... hi could even uninstall the other drive in device manager then update firmware then reboot pc aspi layer = http://www.adaptec.com/worldwide/su...=no&filekey=aspi_v470.exe&language=English+US
