Newly built XP home SP2 machine w/lots of resources. I have been using Nero Home as a means of playing PC based video files on a remote tv, using an MS Media Center remote control. This worked fine for about a month. Suddenly, using the "pause" function, whether with my logitech keyboard at the pc, the mouse at the pc, or the remote control, causes Nero Home to freeze, requiring a ctrl/alt/del shut down. All other play functions (ff, rwd, stop, file searching, etc.) continue to work. Have tried reloading Nero twice, still the same. Anyone know what may be causing this? Also, are there any alternatives to Nero Home for this funtionality (playing pc vid files & using the Media Center remote control) other than XP Media Center or Vista? Lots of good players, but virtually none as far as I know have remote control capability. Thanks in advance, Fred
Thanks for the reply. I re-installed Nero a 3rd time, this time also deleting the remaining NERO & AHEAD folders in WE, but stopped short of searching out & removing registry entries (why the bloody hell unistalls can't actually UNISTALL everything has always irritated me :-/ and on re-load the program seems to work fine again.
