I have seen that a lot of people are having problem with "illegal disc" errors in Nero. The problem uccurs since 1 week (before that I burned a lot of perfect dvds). I bought some new blanc dvds, but the video-dvds wouldn't play in my home theater system. So I decided to update my firmware of the HP dvd 200j. But that resulted in the "Illegal disc" error. So I tried some of my good 'ol dvd that were lying around, but they wouldn't burn either anymore! The media i'm using are: Acro Circle Philips I already updated to the latest firmware, got a recent version of Nero (I heard 7 was still buggy), and my DMA is activated...so could anyone please look at my logfile and maybe give me some suggestions?? Update your Nero from here, both packages http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe Not top quality discs, try Verbatim or Sony (made in japan)...make sure they are +R/+RW
Well....I updated my Nero with both packages as mentioned above. Bought some SONY DVD+R, but didn't have any luck with burning....still a illegal disc error. But now the strangest part: I tried a Philips+RW and it burned perfectly! Well, somebody shoot me, but I really don't understand this problem. (tried to burn a cd, and that works like a charm...)
