i did a search but couldn't find any info that helped. i just installed Nero Micro 8.1.1.0 and for the life of me can not figure out a way to adjust the write speed. i hate burning at anything above 4x but Nero's write speed options insist on 8x or higher. ironically some other (lesser quality) programs give me the option of 1x, 2x, etc up to 48x so i know its not my burner. i am using Taiyo Yuden media and my drive's firmware is up to date. suggestions?
I checked it out but, like you, I didn't find a way to adjust the write speed. I thought, well maybe it's because it's a demo. But, that didn't make any sense either. So, why this program? When there are other free programs that do a lot more.
i've been experimenting with other programs as well. i got tired of Nero for awhile due to it being such a bloated suite of programs but decided to try it again once i heard about Nero Micro. anyway i like NM if it wasnt for the write speed issue. anyway, what programs would you recommend then? i've tried Burnnn and CopyToDVD.. they are both ok but im just looking for extreme reliability with a few basic options.. a no frills burning program if you will.
the best one out there is ImgBurn...... it will have all the burning speeds that your drive and the disk can do and is one of the better burning programs out there that's free...... maybe THE best!
I guess the first thing I'd need to ask you is what do you use the burning software for? If it's mainly for backing up DVD movies? Here's the free one's I like. DVDFAB HD DECRYPTER, DVD SHRINK, IMGBURN. DVDFAB PLATINUM, has a 30 day trial. Then cost $49.00; This one is my personal favorite. Slysoft.com, has CLONEDVD2 and ANYDVD, there are a few other programs they offer as well, just check out their web site. Good software, only very pricy. Both DVDFAB.com, and Slysoft.com, have great tutorials, and have very good support with regular updates. Let's see? Ok, here's a couple more free trial type programs. 1 CLICK DVD COPY 5 PRO, CLONEDVD 4, APOLLO DVD COPY, Nero 8. Note: With DVDFAB and SLYSOFT, download only what you need, this way you can extend the free trial period by trying out there over programs, one by one. If you download all of them at the same day, the trial periods will run out at about the same time. I hope I said that right? There are a few more trial programs from my list. This should get you started. Test one at a time, and you will have months of free trials! And who knows by that time there may be more available. Let me know how things work out for you. I can assist you if you should have any questions about these softwares.
