Hello everyone, I just recently built a new rig with a generic 8x DVD+-RW drive. It came with a disk for Nero 5.5. I installed it, and things were good, even burnt off one DVD. Then I figured I'd go download the version 6 demo to see how it was. The installer said it would remove 5.5, so I didn't bother doing it from add/remove. Now anytime I try to load up Nero, my computer reboots. On top of that, Nero is not in the add/remove list at all, implying that the old version was in fact removed (because it used to be in the list). After finding the uninstall exe for Nero, it told me it couldn't find the config file even though it was in the same damn directory! So I guess my question is how I can get rid of ALL instances of Nero so I can find a different program that won't bog down my system.
Well you can Manually remove all of the Nero Files you can Find and then use a Registry cleaning tool like JV16 Power Tools to Clean out all of the Invalid entries on your PC and to clean up any mention of Nero and then Try re-installing it...I have had simular things happen with Programs that I installed and went wierd on me and this usually worked to get rid of the Program off my Hard drive....Cheers
