I keep getting the error "Cannot Connect TRF" and it's driving me insane. Can anyone help? I use DVD Shrink and DeFab. Everything was FINE for ages, now my burner is totally useless. If anyone else can offer a solution, please do. Without having to pay for upgrades. This is the pits, Ive searched this site and several others and can not, for the life of me, get this error to go away. I can't back up a THING and I'm spending my entire day (after day after day) trying to resolve. Please PLEASE HELP
@speakslow Chances are you updated to nero6 version 6.6.1.4 (the latest version), if so, this version of nero will not autoburn if used with DVDshrink and produce the error you describe. If you want to use DVDshrink's autoburn with nero function, you'll needed to revert back to version 6.6.0.18. If you want to keep/use version 6.6.1.4, you'll need to burn with nero manually. If reverting back to version 6.6.0.18, uninstall nero from your system using the nero general cleantool found here: http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/Nero_6_CleanTool.html Next, install nero6 version 6.6.0.18 packages 1 and 2 found here (re-enter your nero serial#): Package 1 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2 http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe
I had posted it on another thread. I just tried to back up with dvd shrink and it did the first part but did not even give me an option to burn this time. So I opened DVD Shrink and it's set to burn with nero. BUT when I clicked on 'burn settings' there is nothing checked and no way to correct/change that.
Uncheck the burn with nero option in DVDshrink. When backing up with shrink choose to save target as a "hard disk folder", this will create a VIDEO_TS folder containing the video files. Then choose a location on your HDD for the VIDEO_TS folder to be placed in. When shrink is done you should have a VIDEO_TS folder containing the video files at the location you chose. Double click on the NERO smartstart icon and choose nero burning rom from the applications tab/section to run it. Follow the guides for burning the files to disk. burning with nero http://www.dvd-guides.com/content/view/40/59/ or http://www.dvdrdigest.com/articles/article_nero_dvd_burning_page1.html
I went to nero burning rom SE and I guessed it was 'start a multi sesson disk" but the audio and video files are separate. Now what?
In the mean time, here is the latest error message since I have started trying to fix this. * Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.68, size=160016 bytes, created 7/22/2004 5:33:44 PM Nero API version: 6.3.1.19 Using interface version: 6.3.1.4 Installed in: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\ Application: ahead\Nero - Burning Rom === Scsi-Device-Map === DiskPeripheral : WDC WD400EB-11CPF0 atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : CDWRITER IDE4824 atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : SONY DVD RW DRU-710A atapi Port 1 ID 1 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === CDWRITER IDE4824 D: CDRom0 SONY DVD RW DRU-710A E: CDRom1 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 83886080 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 623MB (638448kB) Free physical memory: 337MB (345404kB) Memory in use : 45 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Static Write Speed Table: 0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 8.3.2006 NeroAPI 2:34:25 PM #1 Text 0 File NeroBurnCommon.cpp, Line 78 Message file not found Existing drivers: Registry Keys: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\AllocateCDROMs : 0 (Security Option)
You have a very old version of nero, so follow this guide. Remember to use the DVD-Video application. http://www.digitalfaq.com/dvdguides/authorburn/nerodvd/nerodvd.htm Your log is incomplete, post the entire log if possible.
I tried to follow those directions, which were not exactly compatible with my system and it came back with an error about unknown path. This is toooo difficult to believe. It makes me so upset that it's never been a problem and now it's useless.
Can you be more specific with "it came back with an error about unknown path"? At what stage of the process did this occur?
