I just downloaded and installed the latest NERO 6.x software. The problem I am trying to correct is one of performance when I go to burn a data cd. I get to the "add files" screen and it can take up to 20 minutes to get to a folder or try to change within the location dropdown box. If I'm correct, all the add program should be doing is bringing up the directory structure. I'm runnimg XP sp2 and all used to run well. Can't place my finger on when it started to slow up so I don't know what may have been the cause. It's really frustrating to have to wait so long. Taskmgr shows NERO using 48-49 % CPU and I have nothing else running at the time of trying to copy my data files to cd.
Hi. The most stable version of Nero 6 seems to be 6.6.0.18 available here in two packages: Package 1: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe Package 2: http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe Uninstall your current version and then run both the Nero 6 Clean Tool and the Registry Checker and Driver Clean Tool before installing version 6.6.0.18. http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/Nero_6_CleanTool.html http://ww2.nero.com/nero6/enu/Driver_CleanTool_and_RegistryChecker.html Also make sure your hard drive is not fragmented. If the above suggestions provide no relief, try going back to an earlier restore point.
