I've installed a Samsung SH-S182M LightScribe on my Windows XP Pro System (HP a1010n). I've updated the driver but I still don't have the LightScribe option when I open Nero Cover Designer. I go to File > Preferences > LightScribe and I'm unable to add the Default LightScribe drive. I must be missing something. Any help?

check your installation. Your drive might be recognized as a burner but not LightScribe if you don't have it installed properly! I bought an external LightScribe and it had a firewire and a USB hook up! the USB worked but I first connected with the firewire and my drive would only be seen as a regular burner, not LightScribe! So USB it is and it's been a champ every since!

Installation? It's an internal drive and it's all connected 'properly'. It writes as a DVD Writer, just doesn't recognize it as a LightScribe drive.

if your drive was installed correctly then why isn't the LightScribe being recognized? Usually if your LightScribe isn't being recognized then it's a cable, or something with installation. That's why the software is not recognizing your LightScribe drive! Just my opinion.... at least that's what happened with my drive!

Did you update the firmware on the hp drive? That may have something to do with it.
    Try that first.
    Let us know.
    Good luck

    OK, I did the update.

Nero Cover Designer still does not recognize the LightScribe drive. I opened LightScribe Simple Labeler and it worked great!. So, there must be a Nero 'issue' that needs to be resolved.

Any other software out there that prints graphics to the LightScribe drive?

I've already installed LightScribe Simple Labeler... and it works! Nero Cover Designer DOES NOT WORK. That's what I'm trying to find a solution to. (Or find another program that will burn graphics).

For what its worth i bought and installed nero 7 and could never get it to recognize my lightscrib on my benq 1655. I went back to ner0 6.6.0.18 and everything works. No more nero 7 for me.
