Nero - Low burn speed

    I have just bought a new DVD-writer it is a LG GSA4163 16X DVD Dual Layer and I am using Nero 6.3.0 My problem is that I can only burn at 2.4x using 8x media. If I burn a CD it burns at full speed 40x. Can anyone assist I know there are conflicts between Nero and some burners.

    The latest version of Nero is 6.6.0.16. I'd start by upgrading to that.
    Also make sure you firmware is update to on your burner. What brand of blank discs are you using?
