I am operating in an Win Xp o/s enviorment and using DVD Shrink 3.2 OK. I am keeping the burn to about 4,400 so as not to burn to close to edge. In all cases, the burn fails about 3 to 5 minutes into the process. I am using Verbatim Datalife medium. DMA is active for the drive.I tried 3 different movies and all 3 failed the process. Here is my log. Can you help.

the first thing that comes to mind is this:

way too low in the memory department, your choice of media is good, and you MIGHT want to consider setting your target size even lower, to possibly 4300~ :)

but, memory is a big factor here~ get more memory or if that is not possible right now, then close down your other programs running in the background to free up more memory~ :)

    others will add to this...

    docTY~

The problem of "illegal disk" erors seems to be fixed. I couldn't figure out why the burns failed sometimes and other times they worked. I think it has something to do with the memory that my computer was using. To test the theory, I rebooted my computer and then attempted to burn the previously ripped movie. It burned fine. I then ripped a new movie and did a burn of it and the burned worked fine! The lesson for me is to always reboot my computer before doing a rip or a burn and don't multi-task during either the rip or the burn. I dunno, maybe 256K of RAM in my 3 year old Dell just doesn't hack it anymore.

all i was gonna add is that you're using some very nice media there (i'm biased of course - see my sig), and that DMA is OFF for the zip drive

other than that, and kivory666's observations, there's nothing else amiss re that logfile.
