I recently bought a D/L DVD± burner that came with Nero OEM Suite 6.6.017. I installed it and found a new interface from version 5 with SmartStart. I tried to backup a large image file created with True Image 9 to a Memorex D/L DVD+R disc (I previously saved the image as myarchive.tib in the root c: drive). The file is 6GB. D/L DVD+R discs will hold 8.5GB. Well, Nero did successfully burn the image over -but as 3 separate chunks of 2GB each labeled as .nc_ files buried within a directory labeled 'C' with a .nbi Nero archiving configuration file and a couple text files. This won't work with my image software. I need to copy the entire 6GB file exactly as it is stored on my HDD to the D/L DVD+R disc. Will this Nero version do this or is it skewed software? I also do Not want to use InCD as there seem to be issues with packet writing from what many people have posted. Any useful input/advice appreciated!
Did you burn the TI image as an image from NBR > Recorder > Burn image..., or as a file in a compilation from NBR > New Compilation... ? If you did the first, try the second method.
Recorder? Burn Image? I know what the old NBR version 5 interface was like.. and this is Nothing like it. This Nero OEM Suite 6.6.0.17 comprises: Nero Express 6, Nero BackItUp, Nero CoverDesigner, and the new interface Nero StartSmart. None of the familiar Windows-like drag-on-drop features, no advanced ISO settings, just the crappy StartSmart which burns things the way it wants -not the way you need it to burn. I'm about ready to investigate Roxio or some other software. I really don't like this interface at all. It pidgeonholes the common users' tasks under categories. If you have a basic task that doesn't seem covered under these StartSmart categories you're S.O.L. it seems.
