I got this program together with an ASUS external drive ( 4x). My problem is that it takes 3.5 hrs to burn a DVD or VCD. Is this the speed of the drive, or with the settings of Nero? They told me it should take 15 min. Help please!
First, you should upgrade to the latest version of Nero 6.6.0.14 and NeroVision 3.1.0.11, the upgrades are free from the Nero website. Second, some information about your system would help. Also, do you mean that once the light on the Recorder comes on and it starts to burn, and from that point it takes 3.5 hours? Or do you mean as soon as you click on burn button in Nero it then takes 3.5 hours? Does Nero say Encoding or burning from the time you begin to time the process? What is the size of the content you are burning to disc? There are a lot of factors that come in to play, and you are providing almost no information for anyone to provide you with helpful responses. We need some pc specs cpu speed, memory, hdd. Are you useing USB or firewire? Did you buy the dvdrw as an external drive or put it in your own enclosure? Does your set up have USB 2.0?
OK, I have Pentium 1.6. No firewire, just USB 2.0. It says encoding or recoding. It takes 3.5 hrs from the moment I click burn in Nero. I will get the updates and thanks a lot. Ah, it´s the same for DVD, super VCD or simple VCD.
that sounds like how long it would take on usb 1.1 i wonder if somehow the usb settings might have been changed?
according to pumalite's first post, the drive came originally as an external drive, so i doubt that's it.
What version of Windows are you running? If you are running XP, it will not recognise USB 2 without Service Pack 1 having been installed. Hopefully I am not just stating the obvious. That is, your system may have USB 2 hardware, but Windows does not have the drivers to run the hardware. I am talking about the actual USB ports/hub, not your individual external drive when I talk of the drivers. Just a thought.
plus download dvdinfopro (free) and run one of your discs (blank or burnt) thru it's media info check, pasting the results here so we can maybe rule out the media, or just verify whether it's good or bad quality, thus maybe saving you hassle or money later
windows XP, 6 USB ports, 4 of them 2.0 I don´t know how to set it to master, but I´ll tell you that I tried DVD Decrypter and runs like a rabbit. I will download dvdinfopro and will paste the results here. Thanks to all of you.
