I just recently bought a mp3/cd receiver for my car and I have burned some mp3 cd's for it [w/nero] and it works great. My problem is I did not care at first that it records them in alphabetical order, now, it's a bit of an annoyance and I would like to put them in the order that I want.. Is that too much to ask ;)!? Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

    .. Later, Tim ..

That is the first time I ever heard of that problem! However, I have an idea. I always number my mp3 in the filename before I burn, for example.. (01) - Band Name - Song Name.mp3 and nero would list them from 1 - whatever.

I have not had this problem , but I think you could re-arrange them in the Burn frame on left of screen.

I had the same problem..now my mp3 car stereo has mix mode which shuffles around the song..another thing i do is make separate folders for the diffent types of music..but to actually burn in any order you want, you would need winon cd 5.0.. it has the option to set them anyway you want. It is actually a function to be used in conjunction with a dvd player that plays mp3's. It puts the title/artist/time on the song on the tv screen. The only downfall to this method is that it saves space on the disk for this setup, so you don't get as many songs on there as a typical disk (around 120 songs will fit).

Hi found exactly the same problem. I have a lot of audio book CD’s so track order is vital. I noticed Nero sorts alphabetically, but it also sorts numerically if you have more than 9 tracks. For example 15 tracks in Nero’s file browser window list as follows 1, 10, 11 to 15, then 2, 3, 4.etc. you can re-sort on ‘last modified’ tab, but dragging to burn window re-sorts them as above. My solution was to copy the original CD using Cdex, free download, using partial track setting and selecting all the tracks, you end up with one large file, then I use cool mp3 splitter, split on size of file to max of 9 tracks. You have to try a few settings till you get the idea of size required. Each CD is numbered as disc 1, disc 2 etc when I copy them onto hard drive, and the track split is placed into each folder as I go. Once confirmed as working ok I delete the original large track from each folder and burn. Works great in my car unit. Its involved but the only way it works with Nero
