Nero Pre purchase question

I thought I posted this yesterday but can't find it so I will try again. I am new to DVD video work and am considering buying Nero either ver. 6.6 or 7. My question: Do I have the option with either of these versions to install only the componants I want? e.g., I may not want the InCD, image editing or label making programs, and possibly others. I currently have the old Roxio 5.3 basic version that came on my computer. I will uninstall it first and then use Roxizap. I have old home movies that were transferred from VHS to DVD. If I copy these files to my hard drive, will I be able to edit them at all with Nero; that is insert some text frames between the different sequences in the movie and then reburn? If not, what program is recommended to do this with. Thanks for any help
