I have recently been unable to back up any dvds. I am able to analyze and encode but when my drive opens for me to put in a blank dvd i get error message that says burn failed before I am able to put in a blank dvd. Does anyone know what is causing this or what I can do to fix it? Here is the log: Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.59, size=160016 bytes, created 12/16/2003 7:18:06 PM Nero API version: 6.3.1.17 Using interface version: 6.3.1.4 Installed in: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\ Application: ahead\Nero - Burning Rom === Scsi-Device-Map === CdRomPeripheral : _NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : HL-DT-ST CD-ROM GCR-8483B atapi Port 0 ID 1 DMA: On DiskPeripheral : ST3200822AS atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === _NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A D: CDRom0 HL-DT-ST CD-ROM GCR-8483 E: CDRom1 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 83886080 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 1014MB (1039024kB) Free physical memory: 675MB (691560kB) Memory in use : 33 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Static Write Speed Table: 0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 17.2.2006 NeroAPI 11:10:34 AM #1 Text 0 File NeroBurnCommon.cpp, Line 78 Message file not found Existing drivers: File 'Drivers\PXHELP20.SYS': Ver=2.03.18a, size=20576 bytes, created 9/23/2004 2:03:00 AM (Prassi/Veritas driver for win 2K) Registry Keys: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\AllocateCDROMs : 0 (Security Option)
To back up your DVD's you first have to remove any copy protection by using a prog such as AnyDVD which is available for a free 21 day trial, available at slysoft site. Your Nero is out of date but I wouldn't update yet as the latest version is full of bugs BTW you have also posted this in Newbies forum.
Sorry about the reposting. I already have ANYDVD installed. Yet I am still receiving the burn failed message plus the error log I posted. it wont even let me put a blank dvd in it automatically says burn failed
dgamboa, read the forum rules above about posting. 1 thread per subject. other thread closed. http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/305130
The DVDs you are attempting to back up can you give some more info, are they movies wiht copy protection. You say you have AnyDVD installed, did you OPEN it prior to back up
Yes it is running in the background all the time. I get to analyze and encode then when it is time to put blank dvd in drive I get error burn failed with this log: Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.59, size=160016 bytes, created 12/16/2003 7:18:06 PM Nero API version: 6.3.1.17 Using interface version: 6.3.1.4 Installed in: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\ Application: ahead\Nero - Burning Rom === Scsi-Device-Map === CdRomPeripheral : _NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : HL-DT-ST CD-ROM GCR-8483B atapi Port 0 ID 1 DMA: On DiskPeripheral : ST3200822AS atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === _NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A D: CDRom0 HL-DT-ST CD-ROM GCR-8483 E: CDRom1 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 83886080 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 1014MB (1039024kB) Free physical memory: 675MB (691560kB) Memory in use : 33 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Static Write Speed Table: 0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 17.2.2006 NeroAPI 11:10:34 AM #1 Text 0 File NeroBurnCommon.cpp, Line 78 Message file not found Existing drivers: File 'Drivers\PXHELP20.SYS': Ver=2.03.18a, size=20576 bytes, created 9/23/2004 2:03:00 AM (Prassi/Veritas driver for win 2K) Registry Keys: HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\WinLogon\AllocateCDROMs : 0 (Security Option)
Your Nero is several versions behind, you can go to Nero site and update to 6.6.1.4 and see how that goes. You could also update your ASPI http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/aspi.cfm
I upgraded to nero 6.6.1.4 and tried the ASPI link but now im getting Error:\Cannot connect TRF followed by error log: Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.74, size=164112 bytes, created 11/2/2004 12:54:32 PM NT-SPTI used Nero API version: 6.6.1.4 Using interface version: 6.3.1.4 Installed in: C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\ Application: ahead\Nero - Burning Rom Internal Version: 6, 6, 1, 4d Recorder: <_NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A> Version: 2.0T - HA 1 TA 0 - 6.6.1.4 Adapter driver: <IDE> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : default (0) -> ATAPI, detected: ? === Scsi-Device-Map === CdRomPeripheral : _NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A atapi Port 0 ID 0 DMA: On CdRomPeripheral : HL-DT-ST CD-ROM GCR-8483B atapi Port 0 ID 1 DMA: On DiskPeripheral : ST3200822AS atapi Port 1 ID 0 DMA: On === CDRom-Device-Map === _NEC DVD_RW ND-2510A D: CDRom0 HL-DT-ST CD-ROM GCR-8483B E: CDRom1 ======================= AutoRun : 1 Excluded drive IDs: WriteBufferSize: 83886080 (0) Byte ShowDrvBufStat : 0 BUFE : 0 Physical memory : 1014MB (1039024kB) Free physical memory: 584MB (598324kB) Memory in use : 42 % Uncached PFiles: 0x0 Use Inquiry : 1 Global Bus Type: default (0) Check supported media : Disabled (0) 17.2.2006 NeroAPI 4:36:40 PM #1 Phase 112 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 275 DVD-Video files reallocation started 4:36:40 PM #2 Phase 114 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 275 DVD-Video files reallocation completed (no file modified) 4:36:40 PM #3 Phase 111 File APIProgress.cpp, Line 275 DVD-Video files sorted 4:36:40 PM #4 NEROAPI 7 File Burncd.cpp, Line 3095 Error:\nCannot connect TRF. 4:36:40 PM #5 Text 0 File AudioCompilationImpl.cpp, Line 867 DRM: DRM burn session terminated. 4:36:40 PM #6 Text 0 File AudioCompilationImpl.cpp, Line 896 DRM: Closing entire DRM handling.
