Nero Problems...Here' s the log...what is wrong here?(Eureka! I think I found the problem!!!)

    Hello there! And thanks for taking the time to read this...I have been trying all day to burn an old movie (that I successfully burned in another PC). The problem lies with my new PC, HP Pavillion with media Cenetr and the infamous Sonic program. I am trying to use, Nero 6.6, like I always have with no problems along with DVD Shrink, etc.
    I can endode the movie and save it just fine, but when the disc starts the burn process, it gives me the following error (log below):
    Can somebody pls help me? Should I remove Sonic? Aan/all input will be greatly appreciiated....

    I have been using DVD Shrink for the last year with no problems..Now I installed it in my new PC (Using Nero 6.6) and I am getting error messages like the one below every time the blank disc starts getting burned... I have wasted about 5 blank discs...Can anyone pls help?? Thanks... (see below for error message)

    I see 3 things from skeming the log.

    6.6.0.8 was not a very good version. update to 6.6.0.18

    16x burning is not reccomended.

    Get roxio zapper to clear that from the system.

    Thanks, Whompus...2 questions..and pardon my asking, I am new at this...1) where do I get the update for Nero?(I guess I need to buy that, right?) and 2) how do I get Roxio zapper to do that?

    At the moment I am not at my main computer. So I dont have the links on hand. There are many links posted here in some of the threads for both.

    No the update to 6.6.0.18 will not cost anything.

    Search out some posts from Gwendolin. I remember she posts the links to both a lot for folks. Others do to I just can not remember who all at moment.

    Thanks Gwendolyn..I just updated using the first link...should I also update using the second one? (will that overwrite the version I want: .18?)

    Secondly, what will the zapper accomplish...I have no sed the Sonic program to burn anything yet..(Ive only had this PC for about a week)...

    OK...I ran both links and now my version reads: Nero Digital 3.1.0.21 Is thius what I am supposed to have?
    Also, in my ADD and remove programs I dont see any Roxio...only Sonic MYDVD PLus and several Record Now apps. What should I remove??? Thanks again!

    Sonic/Roxio...shows up as the same thing. Package 2 gives you a few more options such as Nero Recode etc.

    OK..Thank you very much for your input, Gwendolin..and thanks to Blinkie as well...I will remove everything that says Sonic and Record NOW from my pc and then try it with a movie....Here we go...

    OK..I am pulling my hairs (LOL)...this is the latest log after deleting all the sonic stuff, pdating the Nero with the two packages and zapping ...what next???? HELP!!!!

    I can hit the sac now..apparently the problem was with the burning speed... I was burning at 16X and that was too much evidently..I lowered it to 4X and that seemed to do it...in any event I am posting the log, in case you can spot something else .... my DVD burning education has taken a giant leap tonight (although I will probably get to the office late tomorrow)....again...thank you!
