    hello

just came across this site while browsing......ive read quite a lot of the other posts and cant seem to find the answer to my problem so i hope one of you lot can help me.

when im burning a audio cd with nero sometimes the percent bar sticks at a certain percent but the time keeps goin....ie 10 mins later and its still on 15%

when nero does a sussesfull burn it comes up sayin buffer underrun avoided 7 times is that normal?

the last time i tried to do a mp3 burn with nero it failed and here is the log hopefully one of you can understand it.

    Hi Jib_Job,

You are getting a write error. This is normally caused by poor media, old firmware, old software, etc.

And in your case you have OLD firmware and OLD software, so you need to address that before looking to the Hard ware or Source file as possible causes.

First, go to www.btcusa.com and upgrade to the 0059 version of firmware.

And then go to the Nero website at www.nero.com and update to the latest Nero 6.3.1.17.

Once you have done these two things, try the burn again. If you still have trouble, respond back with the new log file generated by Nero.

    Regards,

    Craig

    cheers for that info craig!

i did what you said and downloaded the software.....followed what it said rebooted etc tried to do the same burn and it failed again.

i cant post the log up because it froze...so the only way out of nero was to do ctrl alt del.

    any idears?

    cheers

Did you upgrade the firmware on you recorder as well?

If not, please do that first.

If you did, try a slower write speed and use the Simulation mode first.

    Craig

yeah i updated nero and filmware, rebooted my pc and tried the same burn that keeps failing and it failed again.

ive been wrinting at 32x all the time it can go upto 40x

anyway just did what you said with the same burn on simulation mode and it worked.

so i tried it on normal write at it worked! :)

just a bit confused how it can work now but it didnt the first time i tried after installin the new software.

    thanks for your help anyway!

come to think of it there was one thing i didnt do on the way you said.

when you get to the final burning settings on nero the disc is called "my disk" as a default.....i allways renamed it and the burns allways failed.

but when i did it your way they worked....so i went thro the process again and renamed it and it failed!

do you think its a coinsidence or thats what caused it to fail?

    cheers

So it fails whenever you rename the disc you are about to create?

Very strange. I am not able to duplicate this issue with any recorder I have here, or with other BTC model recorders, but I do not have your exact model in my U.S Office.

I will have our QA team see if they can duplicate this issue.

    Regards,

    Craig
