Is there an alternative out there to Nero? I used Nero 8 and upgraded to 10. Their software cannot work with MKV files as I was told. I get pixelization on most if not all of my MKV videos. AVI works fine. If I just had a need for AVI I would have stayed with Nero 8. Secondly, they are so arrogant about their software they do not give refunds. I am thinking about hauling their asses into small claims just for their attitude. I thought I saw something about ConvertXToDVD. Went to the website but don't like the idea that you can't write files to hard disc. At least I didn't see anywhere this could be done. I attempted to view the pdf manual but it hangs up on Firefox.
ConvertXtodvd does write files to hard, in a temp folder. Use ConvertXtodvd to convert the MKV. don`t put media in the burner. After it`s finished, you will get a small nag screen to insert media to continue. In that lil window uncheck the box, delete the files after burn. If you want to burn put media in, if not close program. On my system the files are saved in Documents/ConvertXtodvd. Open the ConvertXtodvd folder, should see the name of MKV folder. Open it you have Audio_ts and Video_ts folders.
