When I try to Import DVD in Recode 2, I get a pop-up window stating the following... This DVD appears to be copy protected! Do you want to try and open the DVD anyway? [yes] Nero Recode 2 encountered an error and cannot continue. Failed to read from file. Copy Protection Error - The read failed because the sector is encrypted. AnyDVD is set to autostart and is enabled on the DVD drive. So shouldnt AnyDVD take care of this problem? I ran into this error on 3 of 3 DVD's so far... Any sugestions?
I haven't had that problem using Recode and Anydvd but since Recode is a clone of DVDshrink it may have the same startup problem Shrink sometimes has. Try playing your original dvd movie with your player software for a few seconds then stop it and open Nero Recode. This sometimes has to be done with DVDshrink to get it to decrypt. This may or may not help with Recode but does work with Shrink. Jerry
common problem for totally newbies is if they've never played a dvd then their dvd drive's region is never set and thus it won't work. Not sure if these are your very first 3 dvds or if you've done others before. If they are your very first you can set your dvd region in device manager | double click on your dvd-burn or dvd-rom | advanced settings and you can set your region.
sorry brother. Ive been playing DVD's in my drive for many moons now. These are not my first 3 dvd's... It works with DVD shrink 3.1 I would like to try using Recode though. Any thoughts...
well the initial 3.1.1 dvdshrink and DVD Region Free had a conflict....haven't heard of anydvd having a conflict. Howabout trying dvd43 as it's free and works with Recode2. Worth a shot.
I used Anydvd behind Nero Recode when it first came out with no decrypting problem. However it took about 20 minutes longer to do a backup than either DVDshrink with Nero or Clonedvd with Anydvd. Don't know why or if it was just my system. I haven't used it again. I keep going back to Shrink and Clone. Jerry
This is rediculous. Im just going to stick with DVD Shrink and Nero. I guess if it aint broke, dont fix it ey? One thing would be nice though with DVD Shrink to a have a feature that lets you make a setting to automatically disable the languages that you dont use and to give compression priority to a certain clip (eg main clip).
I have no problems with AnyDVD and Recode, works good. You might want to try DVD43 as an alternative. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/video_software/dvd_rippers/dvd43.cfm
