    Has anyone been successful to encode video for IPOD using Nero Recode AVC profiles?

    Thanks

    This is not possible as Nero Recode does not have an AVC profile that uses a Baseline Profile (which the iPod requires). Hopefully Nero will release one soon!

    Yes... Nero Recode 2 does support (ie encode/transcode) dvd movies into IPOD. When Nero Recode 2 lauched, choose the "Recode Main Movie to Nero Digital" and it will have QuickTime supported in the settings in there.

    To ga a bit further on alkohol's post. When you open nero digital and start to recode the movie to digital before starting the recoding select more at the bottom and will get this

    Sure, you can select the Portable - AVC profile and encode the video but it is *not* playable on the iPod because it does *not* use the Baseline Profile which the iPod requires. You can encode movies playable on the iPod using Nero Recode 2 but not using an AVC profile.

    So we will still have to stay with portable profile and select quicktime compatability in advanced settings?

    I was thinking of doing some testing when my friend brings his ipod over again. May just stick to quicktime for it as we dont put videos on his very often.

    Yes, you'll have to use any of the profiles that don't include 'AVC' in them for now and make sure to select 'Simple Profile (QuickTime Compatibility) in the advanced settings.

    @karadur & whompus

    It needs to be on "STANDARD" and Nero Digital will support QuickTime. Yes it worked and it will play on any new Nana IPOD (30GB or 60GB). I've just completed MADAGASCAR and it plays awesomely on my IPOD. Actually, this is the second movie I've put in my IPOD (my first one was HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS).

    I might put on a nice looking guide and have my buddy "creaky" sticky it, since no one has done any guide in here, especially for Nero Recode and Nero Digital (Nero forum). I've noticed a few guides are already at the IPOD forum, but no Nero Recode 2 via Nero Digital. Honestly, I think Nero Recode 2 is much faster and easier. Here's the picture for reference.
