I"m pretty sure I'm having the same issues as you do. "can't read file!" Read some of the responses I have gotten and maybe it will help. So far nothing I have tried has worked. DOn't bother calling Nero Tech support because the second you tell them you have Anydvd, they will refuse to help you and you will get a black mark on your name/account. SUCKS! Nero 6 worked with no issues and to make matters worse, my friend who has no interest in burning DVDs, has Nero 7 trial version and it works great!!!! Is there no justice!

here we go i think...I used dvd decrypter to rip the dvd to the hard drive first, and then I used nero recode to burn it to the dvd. Its burning now as im typing this, maybe it didn't wanna go from dvd rom drive to dvd burner...only thing im wondering, will i lose any quality?

So, were you trying to burn-on-the-fly, directly form the DVD ROM to the burner?

lesstjake, you forgot to edit out 1 of the places where your serial number is listed (edit it for safety).
The Bold line shows where it is (edited, I didn't repost the number)

    Quote:

If reader and burner share the same IDE channel, this create a slowing of data flux between reader and burner.

On the fly copy is possible only if reader and burner are on different IDE channels.

Another possibility is that 1:1 copy is not possible because source disc is bigger than destination, so is necessary compression of the movie. Even with big CPU power, this operation is not possible on the fly, because video compression require many time.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would advise to copy the files on HDD and then burn the DVD. But like binkie says "everyone has their preferences"

I thought you were. To get quality burns on the fly, your system should be performant, a good burner, and a reader able to read faster than the burner, the source file not to be larger than the destination source( the file should not require compression), and like quoted above, ave the reader and burner on diff. IDE channels.
For me, a burn takes between 10 to 6 minutes, depending on the speed and file size. I wonder how much more could be saved out of 5 min? Of course, if you don't have enough space on your HDD, maybe you would try a burn on the fly. I would advise to copy the files on HDD and then burn the DVD. But ,everyone has their preferences.
