Hey guys, after I recode a DVD with Nero 7 Recode and then go to burn it after it's been recoded, it will say it either will not fit on the disk or the disk is full, when there it is a new disk with plenty of space. If I go back into recode and do it again, it will work just fine. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks!
Funny you should choice that nic What version of Nero 7 are you using? If not the latest - 7.10.1.2 - then update to that. Are you saving these to your hard drive 1st then burning them? Or are you just letting Nero do it all at once (recode then the burn part kicks in). Remove unneeded audios - just leaving the english 5.1 audio.
Hey Binkie, thanks for your help and for not banning me, when I saw you had responded, I was like "oh great, i'm getting banned", lol. No sure which version of Nero I have, I go to my Nero Home and can't find the help button, whats the secret to finding out? Should I get Nero 8? Right, I usually use DL disks so no compression, then I select burn at once and choose the high quality recording at the bottom, r these right to use? Thanks!
We don't always ban - just depends on how members act Here's the 'secret' to finding which version you have. When you open SmartStart look in the bottom right hand corner - you'll see an icon with a flame looking thing in it. Click on that - it's Nero's Product Setup and will have the version there. Go by the one next to Nero Burning Rom. No real need to use Nero 8 instead - has a few more bells and whistles in Vision mainly. Turn off burn at once. Make sure you have 'fit to target' selection in the first screen of Recode (usually is by default) and DVD-5 picked. Then remove all the audios except for 5.1 English. That should do it hopefully.
Great Binkie, thank you, glad to see there is a friendly sheriff on this board I was like how int he heck do you find version lol. It needed to be updated for sure. Great, will turn off the burn at once. Do you recommend turning on the other two? Advanced analysis and high quality mode? What do you burn your DVDs at what speed? So pretty much, this Nero Recode does the same thing as DVD Shrink? Thanks Binkie!
I've don't think I've ever used the high quality mode but I do use advanced analysis when the compress shows under 70%. Yep Recode is like Shrink - the same developer. The difference is Recode is a little faster than Shrink. But Recode doesn't handle copy protected movies unless you rip first w/ something like DVDFab HD Decrypter or have AnyDVD running in the background. I mainly burn at 8x or 12x on single layer using Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim or 4x for dual layer.
Shoot, spoke too soon, still does the same thing. I rip my DVD with AnyDVD and then recode it and leave it uncompressed on a DL disk, plenty of room. Burn at once off, and burn at any speed, and it will burn, and then say burn process failed. Just some DVDs do this. I updated it, you think maybe it's the DVD rip?
If you use DL media, I would go with Verbatim, and for burning ImgBurn -said to be better than Nero at burning DL.Also, have your burner's firmware up to date.
Post the log DontBanMe Here's where they are - link. You might also find one for Recode here - C:\Documents and Settings\your pc name\Application Data\Ahead\Nero Recode
@binkie For Nero 7.10.1.2 I have all the logs at the new location, C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\Ahead No logs at the old location in the "Core" folder like in previous versions of Nero. Also, the "Ahead" folder with the logs was hidden, so enabling "Show Hidden Folder and Files" was necessary in Folders->View.
Yeah the one pc I run Nero 7 on has them in those folders + the whole Recode log in the one I posted above. Now for Nero 8 they changed it up again - I need to do a search on the pc cause I forgot where they are
Hey Binkie and Cyprus, lol I was wondering where to find the logs. That was it Cyprus, I was using this pice of crap Memorex DL and that caused the problem, works fine with Verbatim DLs. Thanks guys for the help!
